Common questions

Where are my photos stored?

On your iPhone and, when you're signed into iCloud, in your own private iCloud — so they appear on your other devices too. We never upload them to any server of ours. Deleting a trip or a keepsake deletes its photos everywhere.

Can I sync between devices?

Yes. When you're signed into iCloud, your trips, keepsakes and photos sync across your devices through your own private iCloud — we can't see them. Photos added before version 1.1 start syncing the first time you open 1.1 on the device that has them.

How do trip reminders work?

When you pack a trunk for a trip that's still ahead, you can turn on "Remind me when I'm back". Coffer sends one notification the evening after the trip ends and opens that trunk's keepsake form when you tap it. Deleting the trunk cancels it; you can also turn Coffer's notifications off in iOS Settings.

How does the ticket scanner work?

It uses Apple's on-device VisionKit to read text from a printed ticket and pre-fill the From/To/Provider/Code/Departure fields. The image and text never leave your iPhone — everything is processed locally.

I tapped Erase Everything by mistake.

There's no undo — that's why we ask you to confirm first. Erase Everything also removes your trips and keepsakes from iCloud, so they disappear from your other devices once they sync.

Why aren't my Sign in with Apple details syncing across devices?

By design, they don't: Coffer keeps your Sign in with Apple identity in Keychain on each device only. Signing in is optional and nothing in the app depends on it — your trips sync through iCloud whether or not you sign in.
